Giving Tree and Park Bench Program

Remember a loved one; Celebrate a new life; Honor someone special.

Memorialize or honor a loved one, a friend, or a favorite organization with a gift of green and shade, or a place to stop and rest, adding beauty and enjoyment to our local parks. We’ll help you select a park and location best suited for your tree or bench, and facilitate the creation of a personalized stainless steel plaque.

Memorial Benches - $3,500

Our team will assist with finding the right space in the right park for your bench. Each bench includes a personalized stainless steel memorial plaque. These Victor Stanley benches will provide a space for comfort and contemplation for up to 20 years. Fee includes bench, installation, and personalized plaque.

Memorial Trees - $1,500

Gainesville Parks and Recreation will maintain and care for the tree, offering a replacement guarantee for up to 5 years after installation. Fee includes choice of tree species, installation including planting and watering, and personalized plaque with post.

Tree plantings take up to approximately 3 weeks and are seasonal and weather-dependent. Bench installation may take up to 6 weeks. Donors can work with staff to hold a dedication ceremony, if desired.
